I loved my stay at Nomads - it is one of the best hostels I have ever been to! The location is great; there is a bus stop right outside and a tram stop round the corner which makes it very easy to travel into the city centre. There is also a Main Street behind the hostel with multiple cafes, restaurants and a supermarket. In the hostel, the beds are comfy and rooms are spacious and clean. As a solo traveller it is nerve wracking trying to meet people but I have found it very easy because it is such a sociable hostel. There are events hosted daily at the bar such as bingo and trivia which makes it super easy to chat to new people. All of the staff are very welcoming and genuine and will stop whatever they are doing to help you!! Anita and Ronnie in particular on reception are always smiling and have been so helpful with any queries. If you need any help booking a trip up the East Coast, speak to Emma and Oscar at Happy Travels on the ground floor of the hostel - they are very patient and friendly and talk you through different options to suit you. I would recommend this hostel to anyone!

Super close to public transport, perfect location for St Kilda, everything is right there. We didn't do much in the hostel itself, so not sure of what it offers, we did grab a $5 schooner - bargain. We were quite old compared to everyone else, late 30s and 40s, we stayed in a private room, was perfect for us, we were in town for a concert, was a last minute booking and there was nothing at a reasonable cost except this place. I slept well, nothing woke me in the night, when I was awake you can clearly hear the people outside the room area, though through the night nothing woke me up, our room was right on the main road too, but it was fine for us. I would stay here again for sure, great for a short stay, no matter your age.

Thoroughly enjoying my current stay here! Clean facilities, ensuite bathrooms in every room and the rooms generally feel pretty spacious. Lots of social events running throughout the week so there's always plenty to do! (Party bingo, beer pong and trivia to name a few!). Free breakfast every morning is definitely a highlight - shout-out to Dominique for making delicious pancakes! 🥞 All of the staff are really friendly and chatty- Ronnie from reception is always super lovely and chatty whenever I walk past and made me feel incredibly welcome whilst checking in! ☺️ Definitely worth a stay here whether you're looking to stay short or long term ♥️

Staff always available, friendly and very helpful. They helped me to get a sim card for my phone and print out my cv. Every person has a locker in their room. There’s a storage in the basement for big luggages. Washing machine and drier available for 5$ each. In the kitchen there’s a lot of room to store your food also in the fridges. Fun events are organized almost every night to help people socialize. The en suite bathroom is cleaned every day. Common areas are clean and spacious. Good location, 5 minutes walk to St Kilda Beach and 35/40 minutes tram to the city centre.

The location of Nomads is great, walking distance to any location within St Kilda, with excellent transport links to the Western Suburbs and to Melbourne CBD and beyond. The price of the rooms was very low considering the quality provided. I stayed/worked here a few years ago, and the amenities have only improved since then. I rather liked the digital key situation, although the option of a physical key card would be nice for those who don't like bloat on their smartphones. The events put on in the bar are excellent as always.
